Squash Dumplings

Dumplings may be one of my favorite ways to use up old flour. All you need is something flavorful and moist, and with the gentle application of some flour you’ve got an amazing colorful meal, ready to be devoured. This meal was particularly special, as my partner made the whole thing from start to finish. She chose to roast the squash instead of boiling it so that it would have less liquid, and thus require less flour to become a dumpling. This is a great technique to ensure that the flavor of the squash comes thorough. The tomato sauce, she had made last summer and canned, and she may be the best caramelizar of onions on the whole planet. This meal was full of love, and also insane amounts of flavor.
